APS Claims Policy (effective January 1, 2017)

APS print journals are delivered via a trackable or verifiable delivery service domestically and internationally. Valid claims for journals undelivered or damaged in delivery will only be accepted up to three months from issue date. Claims for journals older than three months will not be honored. Issues may be claimed only once.

To file a claim for an issue, please provide the following information: subscribing institution name, APS account ID number, shipping address and phone number of the institution along with the title, year, issue, and volume number of the journal. If the journal was received damaged, please also attach a clear photo of the cover and damages.

Qualifying claims for print journals delivered to a freight forwarding company or consolidation warehouse will only be honored for the delivery to the primary destination. All deliveries to these locations use a trackable service with proof of delivery.

Invalid journal claims may be fulfilled via a single copy journal issue purchase. Please contact the APS Subscription Service at subs@aps.org with any additional questions or for single copy purchase details.
