The American Physical Society (APS) has renamed two journal titles and separated out the descriptive subheadings from the Physical Review A-E journals effective January 1, 2016.

Removing Special Topics integrates Physical Review Accelerators and Beams and Physical Review Physics Education Research into the Physical Review family and better emphasizes their content. By separating the subheadings from Physical Review A-E, any future updates to the scope of the APS journals will not require changes in library databases.

With these updates, the Library of Congress has assigned new ISSNs for each of these Physical Review journals. We have also updated the URLs for the two renamed journal titles. An updated list of all ISSNs, CODENs and URLs for the entire Physical Review family of journals is available online at librarians.aps.org/issn. The journals with changes include:

Physical Review Accelerators and Beams (ISSN: 2469-9888; CODEN: PRABCJ)
Physical Review Physics Education Research (ISSN: 2469-9896; CODEN: PRPECZ)
Physical Review A (ISSN: 2469-9934)
Physical Review B (ISSN: 2469-9969)
Physical Review C (ISSN: 2469-9993)
Physical Review D (ISSN: 2470-0029)
Physical Review E (ISSN: 2470-0053)

APS has also received the ISSN and CODEN for our newest journal, Physical Review Fluids (ISSN: 2469-990X; CODEN: PLFHBR). Physical Review Fluids opened for submissions January 12, 2016, and is dedicated to publishing innovative research that will significantly advance the fundamental understanding of fluids. Once the first issue publishes, Physical Review Fluids will be free to all 2016 APS-ALL package subscribers and active consortia members. Extended trials will be available to all non-package subscribers, qualifying institutions and corporations. Please contact the APS Subscription Service at subs@aps.org with your request.

If you have any technical issues accessing the APS journals, please contact the APS Technical Help Desk at help@aps.org for assistance. We would like to thank you for your continued support of the APS journal collection, and look forward to serving both you and your patrons needs over the coming year.
